I have been a VIZIO M Series user for quite some time, and the TV has never let me down, whether in terms of quality or performance.
But, once or twice the TV did stutter and freeze for a while. Nothing serious, though, and the TV did return to color after a quick restart.
But a few days back, the freeze came back again, and this time it took a little more than a restart to fix it.

First, Power Cycle the TV
Nothing fancy here, just the plain-old restart, but with an additional step or two. As soon as your TV starts acting up and the whole screen looks like a surrealist painting, try power cycling the device.
A power cycle test will remove all nascent bugs and stored-up static charges in your TV and make it faster and more efficient.
All you have to do is to turn OFF your TV and then unplug it off the socket. Leave the TV in this state for a couple of minutes.
Then, press and hold the power button for about a minute or so. Repeat this step a couple of times. Doing so will bleed the TV off any static charges.
Plug back the Power cable and power ON the TV. Check for any discrepancies. Try this step especially if you are having random restart issues with the TV.
You could also perform a soft power cycle test on your TV using the TV interface commands. If you are facing the freeze issue while using a specific app, try this step.
Follow these instructions to perform a soft power cycle on your VIZIO TV.
1. Press the Menu Button on the Remote to open the Setting tab on the TV.

2. Select the "Test connection" option to run a connectivity test on the TV.
If a message that reads "Download not available" pops up, you have an internet problem. Try restarting the modem using the same Power cycle test as we did with the TV.

Plug back in the router and check the speed using the same speed testing app.
Switch to a higher WiFi channel/bandwidth
The traditional 2.4GHz WiFi band has some issues with the bandwidth allocation if the traffic is high on the network.
If there are a lot of devices connected to the same network, one might experience higher latencies while using the internet.
A 5GHz band doesn't have any such limitations and can accommodate higher traffic without sacrificing the latency. If your Router supports a 5 GHz band, try switching the network to this particular band.

Turn OFF CEC
Consumer Electronics Control(CEC) is a communication protocol by which you can control the devices connected to the TV through an HDMI port using a single universal remote.

All modern TVs come preinstalled with such HDMI ports, but you will have to turn ON the feature on some TVs.
