I have been wanting to grab the Wyze watches ever since they were announced, just to analyze what was actually different between the two products.
It was an especially curious case since both the watches were very similarly priced, and at first glance, the only difference seemed to be the case size.
But only when I took a practical hands-on session comparing the two did I find some interesting differences that triggered me to write this article.
Given below is a brief outlook on the various differences you can expect between the Wyze Watch 44 and the Wyze Watch 47:

The Wyze Watch 44 has better hardware, thanks to its more powerful processor and RAM. Wyze Watch 47, on the other hand, has a better screen and modern design. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference as to whether a smaller or bigger watch case is preferred.
Hardware: Wyze Watch 44 vs Wyze Watch 47
Given below is a brief outlook on the various hardware differences you can expect between the Wyze Watch 44 and the Wyze Watch 47:
Wyze Watch 44 | Wyze Watch 47 | |
---|---|---|
Watch dimensions | 44mm x 36 mm x 11.7mm | 46.8 mm x 38.9mm x 11.9 mm |
CPU | 100+150 MHz | 96 MHz |
RAM | 288 KB+ 8M | 512 KB |
Weight | 42g | 46.6g |
Operating Temperatures | -4°F to 140°F | 41°F to 113°F |
Judging from the nomenclature Wyze adopted for their watches, the Wyze Watch 44 has a 44mm case diameter, whereas the Wyze Watch 47 has a 47mm diameter.
Typically, when companies have two products in the same lineup they slightly differentiate the models by giving the larger one better specs, thanks to its bigger body.
But in the case of these watches, Wyze seems to have taken the opposite approach.
This time, the smaller 44mm model has better processing speeds with its 100+150 MHz MCU compared to the static 96 MHz MCU on the 47mm model.
It seems as if the processor on the 44mm is a dual channel processor, and therefore the two clock speeds in its spreadsheet.
The RAM situation is also a bit choppy, considering that the 47mm model seemingly has a larger 512 KB memory, but the RAM on the 44mm model is dual, with 288 KB+ 8M.
In terms of other specifications, both watches seem to match up pretty well.
Given below are the various health sensors you can expect on both the Wyze Watch 44 and the Wyze Watch 47:
- Blood Oxygen.
- PPG Heart Rate sensor.
- Vibration motor.
- Acceleration sensor.
The Wyze Watches, both 44 and 47, are IP68 rated, meaning they can easily survive a heavy shower or a pool swim session.
Both models also sport a 2.5G curved glass display on top of the aluminum alloy body with silicone straps accompanying it.
Both watches also pack in a pretty decent 300 mAh battery, which is touted to last 9 days on a single charge and with 60 days of standby.
Although neither reaches their proclaimed 9-day usage statistics in real-world usage, they do last a week on normal usage and are certainly better than any Apple Watch.
Charging both watches is also very easy, with magnetic chargers for both models, but it takes about 2.5 hours to fully juice up.
But both watches weirdly have their charging ports in different areas of the body, and the magnet seems stronger on the 44mm model for some reason.
Verdict
In short, it feels like the Wyze Watch 44 edges out the Wyze Watch 47 purely looking at the hardware.
The 44mm watch seems to have better processing chops, compared to the 47mm Wyze Watch.
But both are smartwatches and will essentially provide a very similar experience in real-world usage.
In the end, it is fair to say that the size is purely user preference.
If you prefer a bigger watch on your wrist, the 47mm watch will prove to be a winner for you, otherwise, the 44mm will suit your needs perfectly.
Screen: Wyze Watch 44 vs Wyze Watch 47
The screen is the most important aspect of any smartwatch, and its quality radically affects the user experience of the watches.
Given below is a brief outlook on the various differences you can expect between the Wyze Watch 44 and the Wyze Watch 47 in terms of their screen specifications:
Wyze Watch 44 | Wyze Watch 47 | |
---|---|---|
Screen Size | 1.4" TFT LCD 16 bit | 1.75" TFT LCD 16 bit |
Screen Resolution | 320 x 320 | 320 x 385 |
The Wyze Watch 44 sports a smaller 1.4" display whereas the Wyze Watch 47 dons a bigger 1.75" display.
Now, the differences in the display size are to be expected considering the extra 3mm diagonal length of the watch casing on the Wyze Watch 47.
But the outer dimensions of both watches are much more similar than you initially think, and it is made more apparent thanks to the way the displays are implemented.
The Wyze Watch 44 has a 1.4" display surrounded by thick boxy bezels, making it look very aged and first-generation in a lot of ways.
It also hinders the usability experience of the watch, as you are constantly reminded of the ugly bezels whenever you glance at the screen.
The Wyze Watch 47 on the other hand, has a display that nearly extends to the edges with rounded corners, making it look more modern.
The resolution is also slightly better on the Wyze Watch 47, but that makes nearly zero difference even when putting them both together.
A surprising aspect is that the Wyze Watch 44 has slightly punchier colors, compared to the Wyze Watch 47, further complicating the device hierarchy.
But still, it doesn't make a huge difference, and both the displays are adequate enough for any normal user, with good colors and legibility.
Verdict
The Wyze Watch 47 slightly edges past the Wyze Watch 44 in regards to screen and its overall quality.
Despite the punchier colors on the Wyze Watch 44, the ugly bezels and the overall smaller display weighs it down.
Software: Wyze Watch 44 vs Wyze Watch 47
The software situation between the Wyze Watch 44 and the Wyze Watch 47 has to be one of the weirdest contests of comparison between the two products.
For watches in the same series, the software experience is different enough to warrant quite a lot of confusion, especially while using the two side by side.
Given below is a brief outlook on the various differences you can expect between the Wyze Watch 44 and the Wyze Watch 47 in terms of their software features:
Wyze Watch 44 | Wyze Watch 47 | |
---|---|---|
OS Firmware Version | v0.3.97 | v0.12.49 |
Watches Faces | 6 hot-swappable faces on the device | 3 hot-swappable faces on the device |
On-Device Sleep Data | No | Yes |
For some reason, the Wyze Watch 44 and the Wyze Watch 47 run totally different firmware, with the 44mm model running a seemingly newer v0.3.97.
Although there is no way we can say that the operating systems running on each of the watches are different, there are key changes in the software.
The number of watch faces you can have on your device is also weirdly restricted, with the Wyze Watch 44 supporting up to 6 faces while the Wyze Watch 47 holds only three.
Do note that these are hot-swappable watch faces that are stored on the device. There are plenty of watch faces available via the Wyze app for both models.
There is also a drastic difference in the user interface (UI), with apps such as the heart rate having completely different graphical user interfaces (GUI).
The UI is so different that even basic options such as sleep data cannot be viewed straight from the device on the Wyze Watch 44, but is accessible on the 47 models.
Also, for some reason, the feature of Menstrual Cycle Tracking was initially restricted to only the Wyze Watch 44.
Fortunately, they added the feature to the Wyze Watch 47 after receiving quite a lot of backlash for such a decision.
These restrictions in features are probably due to the smaller footprint of the Wyze Watch 44, compared to the 47 model.
But at the same time, the Wyze Watch 44 has better processing power and RAM, letting it handle more features than the Wyze Watch 47 hence causing confusion.
Verdict
In terms of software, it genuinely feels like a tie.
The Wyze Watch 44 seems to have the newer firmware version going by the number, and thanks to the better processor and RAM can handle more tasks and features.j
But the Wyze Watch 47 has the size to accommodate more features and therefore has a better user experience.

Wyze Watch 47 vs Wyze Watch 47c
Now there is some confusion concerning a newly launched product in the same Wyze Watch lineup, the 47c.
This product brought forward a hike in Wyze watch prices in general, while also splitting the Wyze Watch 44 product page into a separate listing on the Wyze website.
The Wyze Watch 47c now completely replaces the Wyze Watch 47 in its product listing on the Wyze Website.
But upon closer inspection, it is clear that the Wyze Watch 47 and the 47c are the same products, but with newer paint jobs and options for straps.j
Given below is a brief outlook on the various differences you can expect between the Wyze Watch 47 and the Wyze Watch 47c:
Wyze Watch 47 | Wyze Watch 47c | |
---|---|---|
Colors | Black | Midnight Black Classic Blue Space Blue Rainbow Purple |
Watch faces | 12 exclusive watch faces | |
Box | Brighter holiday-themed packaging |
The launch of the Wyze Watch 47c brought forward a new selection of optional nylon straps, but they can also be used on the regular Wyze Watch 47.
