Can You View All Blink Cameras at Once? Yes or No?

Having incorporated a Blink camera security system in my home, many have asked me whether I can view all of my Blink cameras at the same time.

I was surprised at how common this query was, and this got me to write this article on whether you can view multiple blink cameras at once.

How many Blink cameras can be viewed at once?

How many Blink cameras can be viewed at once?

You can view up to 10 Blink cameras at once on the Blink app, provided they are connected to the same sync module and WiFi network.

The sync module is responsible for governing all the Blink cameras and making sure they are synchronized with your Blink account.

The latest version of the Sync module i.e; Sync Module 2 offers support for up to 10 cameras and hence the ten device limit.

That being said, it is possible to add multiple sync modules under a single Blink account and effectively manage an unlimited number of devices.

But the live view shows footage that is sorted according to each sync module, and therefore can only view ten Blink cameras at once.

Can You Rewind the Blink Camera Footage?

Can You Rewind the Blink Camera Footage?

Another related query that is often thrown around with the maximum number of Blink cameras you can live view is whether the footage can be rewound.

Unfortunately, Blink cameras are not CCTV cameras that record footage 24x7, and therefore you cant rewind to any footage that the camera didn't record.

Sure, if you have set up the camera to record when it triggers the motion sensor, you can play around with the clip that gets saved.

But Blink cameras, unfortunately, do not have their camera recording at all times and therefore can not scrub through live view footage.

Alternatively, you can record clips that you are currently viewing using the live view capture feature and then rewind it anywhere as far as when you started the recording.

To do so, simply follow the steps given below:

  • Open the Blink app on your compatible smartphone running Android or iOS. Make sure you have logged in to your Blink account that has the Blink camera paired.
  • From the list of Blink cameras on the home screen, tap on the Live View button on the thumbnail of the Blink camera you want to live view.
  • In the live view screen, tap on the save icon at the bottom to save your live view session.

The saved footage will be accessible from your clip roll, which you can view and rewind at your leisure.

You can also set up the Save all Live View option from the Blink app settings to automatically save all the live views to your preferred storage location.

But do note this will take up a lot of space depending on the number and length of live footage saved.

Can’t Live View Blink Camera? How to Fix

Can’t Live View Blink Camera? How to Fix

If you cannot access the live view of your Blink camera from the Blink app, then chances are that there are some pairing or connectivity issues with your system.

This is quite a common issue with Blink cameras, with infamous issues such as the Blink cameras not being online and Blink Sync Module not connecting to WiFi.

Fortunately, these issues can be fixed from the user end for the most part by utilizing some key tried and tested troubleshooting steps:

Check Your Internet Connection

Check the Internet Connection

Your internet connection is the primary communication channel through which all synchronization operations take place.

This includes the operations of your sync module and its communication with other Blink cameras in your system.

So make sure that your internet is up and running. Check the connection strength by connecting your smartphone or laptop to the internet.

If the internet is fine, then make sure that the Blink devices are active.

Try placing the Blink Sync module closer to your internet router whilst being in proper sync with connected Blink devices so that the synchronization process will be smoother.

If your internet is not working as intended, try rebooting your internet router.

If you still face internet-related issues, it is best to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to patch up your connectivity before proceeding.

Update Blink App

The Blink app is the main interface with which we communicate with our Blink cameras, and therefore it is important to make sure it stays updated.

Blink also sends firmware updates for Blink cameras through the connected Blink app, so it stays to be more of a reason to update the app.
